1. Acne is caused by endocrine disorders or poor oil secretion. After entering puberty, the level of androgens, especially testosterone, in the body decreases rapidly. The hormones in the body will stimulate hair growth and promote the sebaceous glands to secrete more oil.

During puberty, the hair and sebaceous glands accumulate a lot of substances, which allow oil and bacteria to adhere, causing redness and swelling of the skin.

Various microorganisms, especially Propionibacterium acnes, multiply in large quantities in the hair follicles. The lipase produced by Propionibacterium acnes breaks down sebum to produce free fatty acids, while also attracting inflammatory cells and mediators, ultimately inducing and alleviating inflammatory responses.
