Is Proya facial cleanser soap-based? It has both soap and amino acids.

Is Proya facial cleanser soap-based? It has both soap and amino acids.

There are two types of facial cleansers, soap-based and amino acid-based. People generally choose amino acid-based cleansers, and may be more averse to irritating soap-based facial cleansers. PROYA skin care products are welcomed and recognized by consumers. So, is PROYA facial cleanser soap-based? Is soap base really bad?

Is Proya facial cleanser soap-based?

PROYA has many kinds of facial cleansers, targeting different skin types, including soap-based facial cleansers and amino acid facial cleansers, each with its own advantages. Generally, a mild amino acid series can be selected. But only soap base can remove some sebum components. If you have oily skin and want to wash your face clean, you may have to rely on soap base cleansing.

What is a soap-based facial cleanser?

Soap-based facial cleanser is a cleansing product that is usually composed of fatty acids and alkaline ingredients. Generally, as long as you find fatty acids and strong alkalis at the beginning of the ingredient list, both of which are indispensable, you can basically determine that it is a soap-based cleanser. However, in many cases, because fatty acids combine with strong alkali to produce a saponification reaction, the ingredient list usually lists fatty acid salts, such as sodium/potassium myristic acid, sodium/potassium laurate, and sodium/potassium palmitate, which can also be considered a soap-based cleanser.

Soap-based facial cleansers have strong cleaning power and rich foam, but due to their high pH value and strong degreasing ability, the skin may feel tight after use. Therefore, most soap-based facial cleansers generally do not use pure soap. Instead, they are compounded with other surfactants to increase their mildness and improve the skin feel during and after use.

How often should you use soap-based facial cleanser?

For healthy skin or oily skin, it only needs to be used 1 to 2 times a week, but do not use it every day. Try to use a gentler cleanser at other times. Soap-based cleansers are highly alkaline and do not blend well with the acidic skin environment, but they can quickly remove excess oil. If you have oily skin and want to clean your face, you have to rely on soap-based cleansers.

What is amino acid facial cleanser

Amino acids are commonly used surfactants in facial cleansers. Because they are weakly acidic and have a pH value close to that of human skin, and amino acids are the basic substances that make up protein, they can be used with complete confidence even on sensitive skin. In the ingredient list, they also have their own exclusive terms. Common amino acid active agents are often ingredients with the words glutamic acid, glycine, alanine followed by sodium, salt, and potassium ions. They are ranked relatively high and do not contain soap-based ingredients, so they can basically be identified as amino acid facial cleansers.

This facial cleanser is relatively gentle and can keep the face in a relatively refreshed state after cleansing. It does not cause much irritation to the skin and is suitable for sensitive skin. However, this type of facial cleanser is difficult to foam, its cleaning ability is not as good as soap-based facial cleansers, and it is more expensive.
