Pseudomyopia is a relatively common disease. Many of our friends suffer from it. What is pseudomyopia? What causes pseudomyopia? What is pseudomyopia Myopia is generally divided into pseudomyopia, true myopia and mixed myopia. Pseudomyopia is caused by excessive use of the eyes, which leads to continuous contraction and spasm of the ciliary muscle, increased thickness of the lens, and blurred vision. Pseudomyopia is functional myopia. It can be treated by medication, acupuncture, ear acupuncture and physical therapy equipment, or by the patient's own eye muscle strengthening exercises to relax muscles, relieve fatigue and restore vision to normal. If pseudomyopia is not relieved in time, the eyeball will be compressed by tense extraocular muscles for a long time, which will eventually cause the eye axis to become enlarged and become true myopia. What causes pseudomyopia? 1. Using eyes unscientifically for a long time When children or adolescents read or write, the distance between their eyes and the book or words is usually within 33 cm. Their viewing angle is not at a 90-degree angle to the table (or paper) or they read while lying down, which can cause pseudomyopia. In addition, not paying attention to rest after using the eyes for a long time or poor lighting when studying can also cause pseudomyopia. 2. Lack of eye nutrition Many children and teenagers are picky eaters and do not often eat vegetables, fruits, soy products, whole grains and other foods. This habit can lead to a lack of vitamin A, vitamin B1, vitamin B12, vitamin C, vitamin E and vitamin D in their bodies, as well as elements such as chromium, calcium and zinc, making them susceptible to pseudomyopia. 3. Excessive stimulation by light and color If children and teenagers often go to game halls, dance halls and other entertainment venues or spend a long time on the Internet, their eyes will be exposed to the physical and chemical stimulation of light, color, etc. in these venues, making them susceptible to pseudomyopia. 4. Failure to provide timely treatment for ametropia Some children or adolescents with refractive amblyopia may also develop pseudomyopia if they are not treated in time. |
