Which brand of acne patch is good? Does it have side effects?

Acne patch is a skin care tool. With this acne patch, your acne can be cured quickly. Which brand of acne patch is good? Are there any side effects of acne patches?

Which brand of acne patch is good?

First, some common sense: acne patches are only effective for acne with broken openings, such as acne with pus or whiteheads. After cleaning the acne, apply the acne patch, and the acne patch will absorb excess tissue fluid. After absorption, the originally transparent acne patch will turn white. When the white area is larger, you can remove the acne patch. If the wound has closed, there is no need to replace it. If the wound is still oozing tissue fluid when you remove it, you need to replace the acne patch and continue to use it.

Currently on the market, the more common acne patches are 3M, Uni-Pure and Mentholatum.

Let me briefly compare it with you:

1. 3M Acne Patch (Nexcare):

3M's acne patches come in single boxes, but I usually buy the two-box pack, which is more cost-effective. In each box, the acne patches come in different sizes, basically 2 sizes (0.8 cm and 1.2 cm).

I think this is one of the features of their acne patch. If your pimples are relatively small, you can use the small one. If the pimples are larger and festering, you can use the larger one after cleaning them. This way, there is less waste.

Advantages: a. There are different sizes, which will not cause too much waste; b. The acne patch has a certain thickness, so its ability to absorb pus or tissue fluid is much better than other acne patches, and its absorption capacity is very strong;

Disadvantages: Also because of its thickness, it is extremely obvious when applied to the face and is not invisible at all. It is not suitable for daytime use or before makeup and is only suitable for use at night when sleeping.

2. Yorumei acne patch:

The acne patch from Youruomei is very thin and is the most invisible acne patch I have ever used. Because it is relatively thin, it is not suitable to use your fingernails to pick at the edge when you want to remove the acne patch.

It is designed with dotted edges for you to tear, and you should hold it like the picture above so that the edges don't curl up.

Advantages and disadvantages analysis: The advantages and disadvantages of the Yorumi acne patch complement each other, so I won’t discuss them separately. Let me analyze it for you directly. Its acne patch is very invisible, so it won’t feel abrupt when used on your face during the day. Girls who have wounds on their faces and want to put on makeup can also use it before makeup. However, due to its relatively thin texture, its absorption capacity is limited. If your acne is the kind with a lot of pus, which continues to ooze out after cleaning, the surface of the pimple may turn white soon after you apply the Urumi patch, and you will have to change to another acne patch and continue using it. But if you use 3M, 3M can last a long time. This is where I think Urumqi is inferior to 3M. In addition, Youruomei only has one size, which is the size of the picture shown in the picture, so if you only have a small whitehead on your face, you squeeze it out and then apply Youruomei, which sometimes feels a bit wasteful. Furthermore, although it is the most invisible of all acne patches, it is also the most suitable for use before makeup. However, when you actually use it, you will find: First, if there is dirt on your wound, the acne patch will turn white, and it will become more and more obvious on your face. So when you use it during the day, it must be on a wound where there is not too much dirt, or you need to change it frequently during the period. (Regarding this point, I suggest that you use 3M to absorb enough dirt the night before, and then change to UroMé before going out during the day. This means that 3M has already absorbed most of the dirt at night, so using UroMé during the day will not make your skin whiter so quickly). Second, girls who wear makeup will find that when you are not wearing makeup, the Urumqi patch looks super invisible, but once you put on foundation, the Urumqi patch becomes more obvious because the powder on the acne patch will make it look unnatural. I usually use a more luxurious method, which is to apply a patch before putting on makeup, then take off the original one after putting on makeup, disinfect it with alcohol, and then put a new one on. This looks very natural, but it means that you are wasting an acne patch just by putting on makeup. It’s up to you to choose. But you must never put on makeup without applying acne patches, or put on acne patches after putting on makeup. 1. The wound will be infected; 2. The acne patches will not stick to your face after applying foundation or skin care products. It should be applied when nothing is applied on your face (except for alcohol disinfection).

3. Mentholatum acne patch:

Their acne patches are the same size as the ones from Youruomi (I’m not sure if there are other packaging options on the market, but this is the one I bought). The number of acne patches in a box is nearly half more than that of Youruomei. Each acne patch inside is relatively small, with a thickness between that of Urumqi and 3M. I wasn't used to it at first, but after using it I found it very useful.

Advantages: Its absorbency is between 3M and Yourome, its thickness is also between 3M and Yourome, and its price is the most cost-effective among the three. If you don’t know which one to choose after looking at these 3 models, I recommend Mentholatum as the entry-level model. Because many people make mistakes when using acne patches at first, or use them incorrectly, resulting in waste. It takes some time to slowly figure out how to use them. It’s better to choose Mentholatum first, which is less expensive.

Disadvantages: The size is relatively small, which is enough for most pimples. However, if you have large pustules on your face, this product may not cover them completely after cleaning.

Are there any side effects of acne patches?

Under normal circumstances, there will be no side effects, as long as you use it correctly: wash your face, then use a cotton swab dipped in a little saline to clean the pimples; according to the size of the pimples, choose an acne patch of appropriate size and apply it on, with the opening of the pimple as the center point; press the edges of the pimple patch tightly; after a period of time, gently tear off the pimple patch. If you feel that you cannot tear it off, you can soak a cotton pad in water and press it lightly on the pimple patch for a while, and then gently tear it off after it softens; dip a cotton pad in toner and gently wipe the skin clean.

Wrong method:

1. Keeping the acne patch on your face for a long time: The acne patch will not only stick to the acne, but also stick to other skin. Although the irritating ingredients in it can treat acne, they will cause certain irritation to the surrounding skin. Therefore, the time should not be too long, it should be within the time specified in the instructions.

2 Use acne patches without cleansing the skin: Cleansing the face is to remove dust and soften the cuticle to allow the ingredients to penetrate better, otherwise all efforts will be in vain, and even dust and oil will be trapped in the acne patch.

3. Long-term reliance on acne patches: Acne patches are, after all, just an emergency product that treats the symptoms but not the root cause. It is definitely okay to use them once or twice for emergency treatment, but they cannot fundamentally solve acne. Only by developing good living and skin care habits can you win the battle against acne!

This is the introduction to the brands of acne patches. Please pay attention to how to use them. Generally, there will be no side effects.
