Diet and health care

People with keloids usually experience pain and itching in their scars, especially when they eat inappropriately, they often feel that the pain and itching symptoms are aggravated. Skin repair experts say that for keloids, the diet must be light and include more fruits and vegetables.

1. Do not eat randomly: If you have signs of scars and are experiencing symptoms such as itching, pain, stiffness, redness, hyperplasia or contracture and deformation, you should be especially careful about your diet for keloids. Fried and cooked foods, fatty and greasy foods, spicy and dry foods should all be avoided. 2. Citrus foods should be completely avoided, as these foods can significantly irritate scars and cause itching.

3. Don’t be picky about food: Traditional Chinese medicine believes that medicine and food have the same origin. Food also has four properties: cold, hot, warm, and cool, and five flavors: sour, bitter, sweet, pungent, and salty. If you have a picky diet, it will lead to an unbalanced nutritional intake by the body, which is not conducive to the disappearance of scars.

Foods that are considered to be irritating by traditional Chinese medicine should also be avoided. Such as fresh bamboo shoots, beef, mutton, carp, crabs and so on. Other spicy foods and alcohol are also taboos.
