How to avoid dry skin in winter?

Today I will teach you several ways to avoid dry skin in winter. Skin is most likely to be dehydrated and dry in winter, so let’s take a look with me.

What to do if your skin is dry in winter?

What is the most annoying skin problem in winter? It is definitely dry. So what can we do to relieve this dry skin in winter?

The problem of dry skin is that the intercellular matrix (the substance that exists between skin cells and protects the integrity, smoothness and health of the cells) is damaged, and the rough, uneven and flaky cell surface makes it easier to lose water, so the skin becomes dry and rough. Therefore, the general function of hydrating is superficial and temporary hydration. If you want your skin to be truly hydrated, it will be effective only if the skin's protective layer is repaired to its normal state.

1. Use moisturizing products: The primary way to hydrate the skin is to apply skin care products. Moisturizing products should be rich in antioxidants, hydrating agents and anti-inflammatory ingredients.

If your skin is abnormally dry for a long time, the moisturizing product you choose should also contain lipids such as lecithin, cholesterol, glycerol, glycerides and vegetable oils. It is best if moisturizing products do not contain allergenic ingredients such as alcohol, fragrances and pigments, which can cause skin sensitivity.

Hydration and moisturizing are different concepts. Hydration refers to moisturizing water, while moisturizing refers to lotion/cream.

2. Use sunscreen products: Ultraviolet rays will accelerate the loss of skin moisture and cause the appearance of rough and fine lines on the skin, so daily sun protection is very important. After hydrating and moisturizing, apply sunscreen before going out.

3. Avoid using soap: Soap products are all soap-based, including some daily detergents, washing machines, etc., which are products with strong rubbing effects. These products are generally highly alkaline. After use, the skin will be particularly dry and tight, so it is best not to touch this type of product directly with your hands. Wear gloves. In addition, including shower gel, you don’t need to use shower gel when taking a bath in winter. Just rinse with warm water to avoid dryness.

4. Use a humidifier: Water shortage in winter is closely related to the dry climate. Moreover, it is cold in winter and many people stay in air-conditioned rooms for a long time. A humidifier can greatly help you alleviate the problem of dry air. A humidifier is not expensive and very durable. It can improve the skin health of the whole family. You deserve it.
