Is myristic acid in facial cleanser harmful to the skin?

Myristic acid in facial cleansers does not harm the skin, but its cleaning ability is relatively strong and excessive use can cause irritation to the skin. This type of facial cleanser is called soap-based facial cleanser. It is not recommended for dry skin as it will cause dry and tight skin.

The harm of soap-based facial cleansers

Soap-based facial cleansers do not actually cause any harm to the skin, but for dry skin, long-term use will cause dry, tight and uncomfortable skin. It may also cause skin flaking, capillary dilation, and redness of the skin, resulting in over-cleansing of the skin.

For oily skin, using a soap-based facial cleanser will have a better cleansing effect, clean facial oil, and maintain the water and oil balance of the skin. Oily skin can use a soap-based cleanser 1-2 times a week.

However, after using the soap-based facial cleanser, you still need to carry out follow-up care. Use hydrating skin care products to moisturize the skin so that your skin can be better cared for.

When purchasing facial cleansers for daily use, it is recommended to use amino acid facial cleansers. Although they are a little more expensive than soap-based facial cleansers, they are more gentle in cleansing the skin and will not cause much damage to the skin.

Amino acid facial cleanser has a pH value similar to that of the human body, making it gentler and more skin-friendly. Amino acid facial cleanser is not only suitable for normal skin, but also for sensitive skin and acne-prone skin. It has little irritation to the skin, is particularly skin-friendly, and has moderate cleansing power. There is no residue after use, which avoids the damage of residual substances to the skin's natural protective layer.
