The difference between essence water and toner, the order of using essence and essence water

The correct order of using essence and essence water

Use toner first and then essence.

1. Cleansing products

Before skin care, cleansing is always the first step. Don’t underestimate cleansing, it is very important.

2. Make-up water

The function of toner is to cleanse again to restore the pH value of the skin surface and to condition the stratum corneum so that the skin can absorb better and prepare for the use of skin care products. Yi Yi recommends using astringent for oily skin, toner for healthy skin, softener for dry skin, astringent for the T-zone of combination skin, and sensitive water or repair water for sensitive skin.

3. Essence

The function of the base fluid is to increase the absorption of subsequent products. It should be used after toner and before essence/cream. The nutrients in the essence can activate cells, repair cells, increase cell vitality and defense capabilities, and play a repair and introduction function; at the same time, most of them contain both hydrophilic and lipophilic ingredients, which can break down the moisture and oil in skin care products at the same time, allowing them to be better absorbed by the skin.

4. Eye cream

I am used to applying eye cream after water and before lotion, but the order of applying eye cream doesn’t matter much. Because eye cream is only applied around the eyes, while lotions and face creams need to be avoided around the eyes. The usage range of the two does not overlap, so just apply them in the order that everyone is used to.

5. Essence

Essences generally have a higher concentration of active ingredients and can enhance special care functions, allowing the skin to achieve more obvious skin care effects. The molecules of essence are relatively small and should be used before lotion and cream, otherwise the skin cannot absorb the essence well.

6. Lotion or cream

After using the essence, you can apply lotion or cream. If you have oily skin, you can only use lotion, if you have dry skin, you can use cream. Emulsion is an oil-in-water emulsifier with a large water content, which can replenish moisture to the skin. It also contains a small amount of oil, which can moisturize the skin.
