What color is ahc cream? Why are all creams milky white?

In our daily life, we often see people using ahc skin care products. ahc cream is a moisturizing cream recommended by many people. ahc cream contains rich hyaluronic acid essence and is highly hydrating and moisturizing. So, what color is the ahc cream?

What color is ahc cream

AHC facial cream is a light, milky white color. Delicate and soft, moisturizing and nourishing, supplies moisture to the skin, elastic and shiny texture, refreshing and non-greasy, absorbs quickly, and provides all-day hydration effect. Almost all facial creams are milky white because of the addition of emulsifiers.

Why are all face creams milky white?

Because of the addition of emulsifier, one end of it is hydrophilic and the other end is lipophilic. The emulsifier molecules are tightly and directional arranged on the oil-water interface, forming a protective film that prevents the droplets from automatically aggregating and makes the emulsion stable. The oil is dispersed into tiny particles and becomes milky white under the refraction of light.

Why are creams with colored ingredients also white?

Are you curious why most creams and serums containing colored ingredients are white or light-colored? If ingredients like coenzyme Q10, grape seed extract, lycopene, green tea extract, blueberry extract are added to the cream, the cream will turn into an earthy color. But products with high concentrations of dark active ingredients are rarely dark in color. Is the color removed during the extraction/clarification process?

1. The main reason lies in the production principle of creams and lotions: dispersing oil droplets in water. These dispersed oil droplets are so small that they reflect and scatter light, making the product appear white. A classic example is milk. The reason why milk is white is because there are countless drops of milk fat distributed in the water that reflect the light.

2. The so-called "dark" ingredients do not necessarily have color. In fact, most of the ingredients mentioned above are colorless. For example, commercially available grape seed extract is clear.

3. The added concentration is too low so that the color does not show. Commercially available green tea extract is a light brown powder that is transparent in propylene glycol solvent. Because green tea extract is usually added at a concentration of less than 1%, its light brown color is covered by the white color of the cream. In many cases, creams and lotions are colored because a lot of pigments are added.
