Can children use adult sunscreen? Why can't children use adult sunscreen?

In our daily life, many people use sunscreen to protect themselves from the sun in summer. Sunscreen can effectively protect our skin. Children also need to do a good job of sun protection. However, can children use adult sunscreen?

Can children use adult sunscreen?

The ____ does not work. It is not recommended for children to use adult sunscreen because children's skin has not fully developed and is more delicate and sensitive than adult skin. If adult sunscreen is used, it is likely to irritate children's skin, causing redness, hotness or other discomfort symptoms.

Can children use sunscreen?

Of course children can use sunscreen. Children especially need to use sunscreen because their skin is often not fully developed and their ability to resist ultraviolet rays is relatively weak. Therefore, the ultraviolet rays shining on children are three times more than those on adults. In other words, children's skin is more susceptible to damage from ultraviolet rays than adult skin, so children very much need to use sunscreen. Just children should use physical sunscreen designed for children.

At what age can children use sunscreen

6 months later. For babies, it is recommended not to use sunscreen within six months. Because babies under six months old are too young and have delicate skin, using sunscreen may harm their skin. If you want to go out, mothers should choose cotton clothes with better texture for their children, wear sun hats or hold parasols to avoid direct sunlight on the skin, and try to avoid going out at noon. It should be noted that it is not suitable to take children out when the light is strongest, especially between 10 am and 2 pm. Going out at this time is not only easy to get sunburned, but may also cause dehydration and heatstroke. If you cannot avoid going out during this period, be careful not to engage in overly strenuous activities and replenish water in time.

Precautions for applying sunscreen to babies

1. Be especially careful when using sunscreen on babies. Do not apply too much on their hands to prevent babies who like to "suck their fingers" from licking the sunscreen on the back of their hands into their mouths.

2. Although each sunscreen has its fixed SPF value, its effectiveness will not last that long after the baby sweats or plays in the water as the sweat and water evaporate. Therefore, it is best to apply it every 2 hours and wipe off the sweat and water before each application.

3. When the child comes back from outside, use warm or slightly hot water to wash off the sunscreen on the child's body and face. You can use a mild children's bath gel. After washing, apply baby lotion on the child in time. It can lower skin temperature and relieve redness and swelling caused by sun exposure.

4. Sunscreen should not only be applied on the baby's face, but also on all exposed parts such as the neck, arms and hands. When going out for sports or swimming, it is best to choose a sunscreen that is waterproof. Sunscreen must be applied half an hour before your baby goes out to allow the skin to fully absorb it. If you are outdoors for more than 2 hours, it is best to reapply. Choose a sunscreen designed for children to reduce allergic reactions. Even on cloudy or rainy days, some ultraviolet rays still penetrate to the ground, but the intensity is lower than on sunny days, so you still need to do a good job of sun protection.
