How many times a day should L'Occitane hand cream be applied to distinguish genuine and fake ones?

L'Occitane hand cream is a skin care product from France. This hand cream has many scents, a complete range of varieties and a wide selection, so it is very popular. So how to tell if L'Occitane hand cream is authentic? How many times a day should I apply hand cream?

How to distinguish the authenticity of L'Occitane hand cream

First, let’s look at the three classic ones: shea butter, rose, and cherry blossom. These are also the three models with the most widespread counterfeits. In general, from my observation, there are almost no fakes of the limited edition, at least I haven't found many! Fakes of these three models are so rampant that there are N versions! Here I will use the most common version to compare and identify, which cannot represent all fakes. Uh... I really don't have the energy to buy and compare from each store.

From the appearance, the real one is brushed and has a strong texture, while the fake one has almost no brushing and has a poor texture.

From the appearance, the real ones are brushed and have a strong texture, while the fake ones have almost no brushing and have a poor texture. However, regarding the drawing, Mengzhu would also like to state that the drawing of different batches is also different, so two authentic products from different batches are specially placed. In addition, the tail of the genuine product is flat. Some customers said it has been used. Oh, that's how the genuine product is. Only fake products will be bulging.

You can tell the authenticity of shea butter by its texture. The real shea butter is a thick paste, similar to toothpaste, while the fake one is a lotion. After applying it, the real product is moisturizing but not greasy, while the fake one is very watery. The taste of real shea butter is a little strange. I think it tastes a bit salty. Of course, I'm not talking about eating it, but smelling it. You can imagine it yourself. Some customers also said that it tastes a bit like vanishing cream. I don't know what vanishing cream tastes like, so I don't know whether it tastes similar. The fake one smells fragrant, a little bit of coconut and a little bit of milk. Of course, there are many versions of fakes, and maybe there are other fragrances, but the texture of the fakes must be lotion, not paste! For those that sell for dozens of yuan for six pieces, you only need to ask whether shea butter is a paste or lotion, which is enough to judge the authenticity!

As mentioned earlier, different batches of wire drawing will be different. Here is a close explanation. Both are real, but the brushing on the left one is much more obvious than the one on the right. The font and horizontal bar of the batch number on the back are also different. These subtle differences are not enough to distinguish true from false. As you have seen before, there is a huge difference between genuine products and fakes. Don't look down too much on underground fake product factories, and don't look down too much on French manufacturers. Underground factories cannot produce products that are 98% of the quality of French manufacturers.

One last thing about shea butter, which is the thickness issue that many customers have mentioned. Shea hand cream contains 20% shea butter, which is vegetable oil. One of the characteristics of vegetable oil is that it will change with temperature, just like the soybean oil and corn oil used at home. The higher the temperature, the thinner and softer the texture, and the darker the color. The lower the temperature, the thicker and harder the texture, and the lighter the color. This is one of the important ways to determine whether shea butter hand cream is genuine or fake. Fake shea butter hand cream does not contain shea butter, so it will not change with changes in temperature. In order to prove this, someone put one hand cream in the sun and the other hand cream in the refrigerator, and took them out after keeping them for an hour. As you can see, the one on the left is obviously harder and whiter in color, while the one on the right is softer and yellower in color. So don’t ask why our shea butter is harder than the one you are using, because the one you have been using is only the body temperature that you often pinch and pinch. Don’t ask why it is softer than the one you used before, maybe it was winter when you used it last time, and now it is spring! But no matter how high the temperature is, the shea butter will not be as thin as the texture of the fake lotion, it just changes from a hard paste to a soft paste!

Let’s look at roses again. From the appearance point of view, the real ones are bright and colorful, while the fake ones are dull and lifeless. After zooming in, you can see that the authentic rose pattern has clear grid patterns, while the fake one has only faint, blurry marks. The genuine paste is white with a slight reddish tint, transparent and shiny. Because it is the essence extracted from roses, not artificially synthesized pigments and flavors, different batches are slightly different, sometimes redder, sometimes whiter, and the fragrance is sometimes stronger and sometimes lighter. But no matter how they change, they all have the pure rose scent. The fake paste is white and not transparent, and it smells like rose essence. The fragrance lasts for a very short time and disappears as soon as you wash your hands. The authentic scent is very long lasting.

Next is the cherry blossom. The genuine product has brushed packaging, which is bright and textured, while the fake product has basically no brushing, is dull, and looks gray and has no texture. There are also differences in the brushed finish of genuine products, just like the shea butter mentioned earlier, different batches have different degrees of brushed finish. The one on the left has very obvious brushed finish, while the one in the middle has very light brushed finish. But compared with fakes, the texture and quality are still a world apart. Take a close-up look.

The smell of real cherry blossoms is fragrant and sweet, and it is one of Mengzhu’s favorite smells. It is difficult to describe this smell, but it really smells good. Of all the smells, cherry blossoms are the only one that no customer has ever said they don’t like. The fake ones taste OK and are quite fragrant, but not sweet. In short, there's no comparison. The genuine product still leaves your hands smelling nice after washing them, which the fake ones can never do. Looking at the paste, the real thing is a very delicate lotion. The fake stuff is like paste.

Finally, we have a limited edition, recently discovered fake of shea honey, in two different versions. Looking at the packaging, the genuine product on the left is clearly printed and the tube mouth is white. The bear and house printed under the fake in the middle. The nozzle on the right is grey.

Squeeze it out and you will see that the genuine paste is the same as shea butter, it is also toothpaste-like and very thick. Because 20% shea butter is added, it has all the characteristics of shea butter mentioned above. The fake product's paste is so thin that it can't stay on and just keeps dripping down.

After applying it, there is a big difference. Although the genuine product is thick, it is very delicate and easy to absorb. The fake stuff is just water. I really don't know what it's made of. Do you still dare to use it? Oh, I almost forgot. The real stuff smells very, very, very fragrant like honey. It makes me drool when I smell it. I love it so much. As for the smell of fake products, I'll make you laugh to death if I tell you. The one in the middle is fragrant, with the scent of powder and rouge. The one on the right is outrageous, it smells like lemon and salty soda.
