What can't people with acne on their faces eat? Can they drink milk?

I have pimples on my face. Oh my god, this is a life-threatening thing. My whole face looks bad no matter how I look at it. What can’t I eat when I have pimples on my face? Can I drink milk if I have acne on my face?

What should people with acne on their faces not eat?

1. High-sugar foods

Foods with a high sugar load can cause an increase in insulin levels in the blood and an increase in the level of free insulin growth factor 1 (IGF-1), which will eventually cause excessive keratinization of the epidermis and increased sebum secretion, leading to acne.

2. High-salt foods

Although scientists have not found a relationship between salt intake and the severity of acne, the higher the salt intake, the earlier people will develop acne problems. Scientists have not found a clear explanation. We believe that high salt intake may cause water and sodium retention, which is what we often call water. The edema of the hair follicle infundibulum will compress the hair follicle wall, causing blockage of the sebaceous gland opening and poor oil excretion, which naturally leads to acne.

3. Partial oil

Greasy food will promote the skin to secrete more oil, which is also not good for acne. In addition, the type of fatty acids also affects acne. Excessive omega-6 fatty acids will aggravate the inflammatory response, while sufficient omega-3 fatty acids will help reduce inflammation. Therefore, if you have acne, try to eat less refined vegetable oils with high content of omga-6 fatty acids, such as soybean oil, corn oil, sunflower oil, peanut oil, etc. You can use olive oil or flaxseed oil instead.

Can I drink milk if I have acne on my face?

You can’t drink milk if you have acne on your face.

For people with acne, the casein in milk will protect IGF-1 (also known as growth factor) from being destroyed by digestive enzymes, indirectly promoting the development of inflammation and sebum secretion. The development of inflammation will make acne grow better, and the secretion of sebum will clog the pores and cause more acne. Therefore, people with acne on their faces must not drink milk, as it will make the acne worse.

This is the end of the introduction to foods that you should not eat when you have acne on your face. You should not drink milk.
