What to do with oily skin in daily life? The correct oil control method

Girls like to check their skin in the mirror carefully between dates or before interviews to see if their makeup is coming off due to excessive oiliness, so as to keep a fresh and natural look at all times.

What to do about oily skin in daily life

If you think that skin is just a layer of skin, you are wrong. Skin is the largest barrier defense organ of the human body. Can you imagine what a person without skin would look like? The facial skin has the most sebaceous glands than any other skin on the body, so it is more prone to oiliness. Sebaceous glands secrete sebum continuously all year round. These sebum can evenly adhere to the surface of the skin to form a sebum film. This sebum film is not thick, but it shoulders the important role of resisting external stimuli and preventing the loss of internal moisture in the skin.

Several factors that affect sebum secretion

Sebum levels are closely related to genetics, environment, age and body functions, so some people's skin types can be divided into three general types: dry, combination and oily. Of course, the skin's sebum level is also affected by the external environment. For example, in the cold winter, oily skin rarely occurs. Age is also a key factor that directly affects sebum levels. The sebum secretion of the sebaceous glands decreases with age, which explains why the texture of skin care products suitable for mature skin is usually mellow and thick. When body functions are disturbed, the activity of sebaceous glands will also be affected. For example, many people will experience abnormal oil secretion and acne problems before and after puberty.

A greasy face not only affects your appearance, but can also cause skin problems!

1. Acne

Many people with oily skin types suffer from acne. When the sebaceous glands are overactive and secrete too much oil, the oil that cannot be discharged normally will be stored in the pores. When it encounters bacteria and dirty air, malignant fatty acidization or anaerobic infection will occur, causing acne to break out.

2. Blackheads

When the sebum blocked in the pores cannot be discharged for a long time, it will not only cause acne problems, but also lead to the formation of blackheads. The oil exposed outside the pores is oxidized by the air, and the ends of the oil particles will appear as yellow-brown dots. If you don’t look closely, they will be dark brown, so they are called blackheads.

3. Dark skin

Dull skin color is not only due to the excessive deposition of melanin, but also may be due to the oxidation of sebum. When a large amount of oil cannot be used by the stratum corneum, it will accumulate in areas where the sebaceous glands are abnormally developed. Over time, it will turn yellow due to oxidation, making the whole person look dull and unhealthy. This is just like pearls that will turn yellow if they are not isolated from the air and stored for a long time.

4. Enlarged pores

Excessive secretion of oil will also enlarge the pores. The reason is that when the existing size of the pores cannot meet the existing "discharge" of sebum, excessive oil is in a state of gushing out for a long time. In addition, the old dead skin cells attached to the pores make the pores look abnormally large from a distance.

5. Demodex infection

Demodex is a hair follicle parasite that lives in the skin and feeds on human sebum. Excessive oil secretion provides Demodex with a sufficient food source, accelerating its reproduction. At the same time, the activity of Demodex in the skin will also stimulate the activity of the sebaceous glands, which is a vicious cycle.

The correct way to control oil

1. Do not use soap-based cleansing products

Although soap-based and other strong alkaline cleansing products can effectively "scrape" away oil, they will inevitably damage the sebum membrane on the surface of the skin. If the sebum membrane is imperfect, the sebaceous glands will accelerate the secretion of sebum, causing more sebum to flow out of the pores. At the same time, the damaged sebum membrane cannot perform its normal defense function, and skin problems such as sensitivity and roughness will follow. For oily skin, thorough cleansing does not mean deep cleansing. It is difficult to control how deep the cleansing is. If you are not careful, it may cause secondary damage to the skin. Therefore, in daily cleaning work, proper cleansing is required. Amino acid cleansing products are the most ideal choice.

2. Physical adsorption method is feasible, but do not use it on the whole face

By using skin care products containing oil-controlling adsorption particles such as kaolin and silicone ingredients, you can safely absorb oil. However, the oil-control ability of these adsorption ingredients is extremely strong, and if you are not careful, it will cause skin problems such as breakouts. Therefore, it is best to use them locally in sebum-prone areas such as the T zone, and avoid using them on the entire face.

3. Mild acid peeling ingredients

Salicylic acid and its derivatives, glycolic acid can effectively restrain the sebaceous glands at low concentrations, which is a way to inhibit sebum from the source of the skin. At the same time, this type of acidic skin-exfoliating ingredient can also effectively clean the garbage in the pores and the old dead skin cells accumulated around the pores, inhibiting oil secretion while also gently exfoliating.

4. Active zinc that inhibits bacteria and controls oil

The surfactant not only has the function of controlling oil, but is also a strong antibacterial agent, which can prevent acne while fighting sebum.

5. Chinese herbal medicines are indispensable for fighting against Demodex mites

Using skin care products or lotions containing insect repellent plant ingredients such as Cnidium monnieri, Stemona bulbus, and Taraxacum officinale is the first choice for combating sebum problems caused by Demodex mites. It can completely eliminate the Demodex follicles that parasitize in the pores, avoiding the vicious cycle of Demodex follicles feeding on sebum and promoting accelerated sebum secretion.

Oil control tips

Hydration method: Carry a spray with you and drink plenty of water to replenish water.

Diet therapy: I took aloe vera for a period of time, and the problems of oily face and acne were solved.

Massage method: After cleansing, put a little salt in the palm of your hand, dissolve it with water, and gently massage your face. This can improve facial oil production and is suitable for oily skin.

First aid method: Cool your face with cold water or ice cola in the refrigerator to shrink the pores immediately, then use oil-control products to double the effect.

Sleep method: Adequate sleep is the "stress relief oil" that relieves fatigue, staying up late, anxiety and other conditions.

Mask method: Be sure to moisturize while controlling oil. Homemade cucumber mask has a good moisturizing effect.

Essential oil method: Grapefruit and sage have a good quick oil control effect, and can whiten and tighten facial skin.

Japanese treatment: Add some Japanese sake to the water when washing your face to achieve the oil-control effect.

Chinese folk remedy: Beat egg yolk and apply it on your face for 10 minutes. Use it every night to effectively control oiliness.
