What do sun spots look like?

Sun spots, also known as solar dermatitis, are acute inflammation of the skin caused by excessive sun exposure. In late spring and early summer, children, women, ski enthusiasts, and people who need to work frequently on the water are most likely to develop sunburn due to sunlight.

After strong or prolonged exposure to the sun, the skin will show varying degrees of redness. Some are light red, some are red, and some are dark red. In some cases, these reddened areas of skin may appear slightly raised and oval in shape, which is actually a condition called edema of the skin. After a few days, the oval bumps turn into scattered brown patches. Sometimes, sunburned skin will even peel off a layer of dry skin, in which case sun spots will form quickly.

How sun spots form

1. There is a kind of melanocyte stem cell in the epidermis of the skin, which can be activated under certain conditions. It will release melanin, and eventually form spots. The ultraviolet rays in sunlight directly affect the production of melanin. Ultraviolet rays activate tyrosinase in melanocytes, and through a series of reactions, a substance called DOPA is produced, which is finally converted into melanin.

2. If there are toxins in the skin, they will activate cell activity. At the same time, it will produce a series of oxidation reactions with tyrosinase, which will generate DOPA and release melanin. Various pollution, radiation, smoke and other conditions in life will aggravate skin oxidation.

3. In daily life, we are exposed to sunlight pollution, etc. These external threats will cause inflammation in the cells. In order to repair the inflammation, the skin cells will naturally secrete a tetraenoic acid substance. This substance will activate tyrosinase to a certain extent and promote the formation of melanin.

4. Because there are many factors that can cause skin abnormalities. Therefore, you must avoid contact with substances that you can avoid at ordinary times, so as not to accelerate the oxidation of the skin and cause the phenomenon of melanin.

This is the introduction to the appearance of sun spots. Now you know how they are formed!
