Sunscreen recommendations for 2018: some good and some bad

The sunscreen recommendations for 2018 are both good and bad. These eight sunscreen products are very popular now. Check to see if your sunscreen product is a bad one.

Sunscreen recommendations for 2018

The basics of sunscreen

UVA: can cause skin tanning and aging

UVB: can cause sunburn and redness

SPF: sunscreen's coverage rate and duration of UVB

PA: protection grade of UVA. The more plus signs it has, the stronger its sun protection ability is.

Chemical sunscreen: absorbs ultraviolet rays and then releases them, with a refreshing texture but unstable ingredients

Physical sunscreen: reflects ultraviolet rays, the texture is mostly greasy and white, but the ingredients are stable and effective, suitable for sensitive skin

*Most sunscreens on the market use a combination of physical and chemical methods to achieve a refreshing and non-greasy texture with strong protective power. Also, make sure you apply enough sunscreen. If you only apply a thin layer, you might as well not apply it at all. It's a waste of money on sunscreen and it has no effect.

Sunscreen you might like

1. Elixir Gold Tube/Silver Tube, 35ml

spf50+ pa++++, around ¥200

Anyone who searched for sunscreen last year, whether on Weibo or TB, would have come across the name of Elisil, it’s so popular. I couldn’t even buy the gold tube at first because it was out of stock. The silver tube is a bit more expensive and claims to have added whitening ingredients. After using them, there is no difference between the two. They are the same as lotions, very easy to spread evenly, have an oily texture, and function as a moisturizing primer. Except for super desert skin, it is recommended for other skin types to use it in autumn and winter.

2. Shiseido SunMedic Sunscreen Lotion (Old Version), 50ml

spf50+pa++++, ¥170

This model in the sunmedic series has been discontinued, and only a few purchasing agents still have it in stock. It is a niche product but has a good reputation. New models are still being released, but I heard that the user experience is not as good as the old models so I didn’t buy it. I think its texture is better than Elixir, moist and not greasy. It can be used in all weathers except the hot summer in the south. Just use powder to set it after applying.
