How to make a homemade aloe vera honey mask? Why doctors recommend not making homemade masks

Nowadays, many people are worried and afraid when talking about preservatives, so they cannot tolerate some preservatives added to ordinary skin care products. Therefore, many young ladies decided to make their own facial masks at home, thinking that this is safer. Today I’m going to introduce you to how to make your own aloe vera and honey facial mask, and then take a look at why doctors do not recommend that we make our own facial masks.

How to make a homemade aloe vera and honey mask

Step 1. Take a large piece of aloe vera leaf, 20 grams of honey, a small pot and a bowl. After preparing these, you can start making the aloe vera honey mask.

Step 2. Cut the prepared aloe vera into small pieces with a knife, put a small pot on the fire, add 500 grams of water, and then put the cut aloe vera in the pot. Bring to a boil over high heat, then simmer over low heat for about fifteen minutes. Turn off the heat, filter the cooked aloe vera, and mix the liquid with honey.

Step 3. Before going to bed at night, wash your face with warm water, then apply the prepared aloe vera honey beauty cream on the skin of your face. After twenty to thirty minutes, rinse it off with clean water. This beauty mask has excellent effects and is mild in nature. It can be used every night.

Why doctors say not to make homemade facial masks

Facial masks from regular manufacturers are safer than homemade ones

The reason why many dermatologists advise people not to make homemade facial masks is mainly because the preservatives used in regular and qualified masks are within the safe dosage range and there is no need to worry too much. If you are confused about product selection, it is recommended that you try to choose facial masks produced by large groups such as Shanghai Jahwa, Procter & Gamble, L'Oreal, and Shiseido, because the production process is more rigorous and the quality is more guaranteed.

Of course, if you have sensitive skin, it is recommended to reduce the frequency of using facial masks (because frequent use of facial masks can easily cause skin inflammation). If you choose to make a homemade mask for preservative reasons, I must tell you that homemade masks cannot guarantee the disinfection conditions during the mask making process, and the concentration and irritation cannot be controlled, so they are generally not as safe as formally produced masks. In addition, the "effectiveness" of homemade facial masks is more of a "placebo" and cannot withstand rigorous scientific verification.

Facial mask skin care steps are not irreplaceable

In many cases, facial masks are just a tool for moisturizing and hydrating, and this skin care step is not irreplaceable. Just use lotion or cream after cleansing to replenish moisture. Moreover, this step is not likely to cause overhydration of the skin, which may cause skin sensitivity.
