Should lotion and cream be used together? What is the difference between the two?

Skin care is actually an old topic. Many fairies will use lotions and creams, but some fairies will have doubts, can the two be used together? You will know after reading this.

Should I use lotion and cream together?

Lotion and cream can be used together. Lotion and cream are essentially the same, both are for "locking in moisture", but the ratio of water and oil is different. Lotions contain more water and are better absorbed; creams contain more oil and are more nourishing and moisturizing. Generally, only one product is needed to achieve a moisturizing effect. If you are in the dry autumn and winter seasons or have dry skin, you can apply lotion and then cream.

Difference between lotion and cream

1. In terms of appearance, lotion is liquid and cream is paste.

2. Lotion is more suitable for summer or oily skin, while cream is thicker and suitable for dry seasons and medium-dry skin.

3. Lotion is generally absorbed faster than cream, but it is not as moisturizing as cream.

4. Many brands have launched repair creams to be used after lotion. You can apply lotion directly during the day, and apply a layer of repair cream after the lotion at night to enhance the protective effect.

5. The lotion can quickly penetrate into the skin. The surface of the skin is composed of stratum corneum cells, which are surrounded by some intercellular lipids. These intercellular lipids determine the moisture level of our skin. The water-oil ratio of the lotion is closest to these intercellular lipids, so it adheres very well after application.

6. The main ingredients of facial creams are mostly cell activating ingredients, so the moisturizing ingredients of most facial creams are relatively less than those of lotions. The amount of lotion used will definitely be more than the amount of facial cream used, so the moisturizing ability of lotion is strong enough.

Is it better to use lotion or cream at night?

Cream is thicker and more moisturizing; lotion is thinner and more refreshing. Therefore, in summer and during the day when you need a more refreshing skin care effect, use lotion, and in the evening and winter when you need a more moisturizing skin care effect, use cream.

In fact, the key is to look at your own skin. If you have young, oily skin, lotion may be enough. If you have dry skin that needs moisturizing, you may need to use cream all year round. The key is to see if it feels too dry or too oily when applied to your skin.

If you don't feel it, it's fine to use one, but if you feel the cream is oily during the day, you should also use lotion, and vice versa.
