Is the water in toner and lotion the same? The difference between toner and lotion

Lotion and lotion are common skin care products, and I believe most people are familiar with them. So, is the water in lotion and lotion the same? Let’s find out below.

Is the water in lotion and lotion the same?

It depends on the specific situation. Toner, softening water, and astringent are collectively called lotion. If the water in lotion (toner + emulsion) and lotion both refer to toner, then they are the same, otherwise they may not be the same; the water in lotion does not specifically refer to toner, then lotion and lotion are also different. For example, lotion is a liquid cream-like skin care product, while toner is water-like, contains trace amounts of alcohol, and some are pure plant formulas.

What is lotion

Toner and lotion are toner + lotion, abbreviated as toner and lotion. The main function of lotion is to hydrate and moisturize. Of course, lotions with special functions can have other effects, but being able to hydrate and moisturize is already what lotion does.

What is lotion?

Toner, softener and astringent are collectively called lotion. Toner is generally a transparent liquid that can remove dirt and oily secretions from the skin, keep the skin's stratum corneum appropriately hydrated, and has the functions of promoting the skin's physiological effects, softening the skin, and preventing skin roughness. There are many types of lotions, which can generally be divided into moisturizing lotions, astringent lotions, softening lotions, etc. according to their purpose of use. The main ingredients of lotion are purified water, ethanol, isopropanol, etc.

The difference between toner and lotion

1. Different ingredients

Lotion is also known as emulsion. Emulsion is a liquid cream-like skin care product. It is called emulsion because it looks pure white like milk. Toner contains trace amounts of alcohol, and some are made from pure plant formulas.

2. Different appearance

From the appearance, lotion is liquid, while toner is water. Toner feels refreshing when applied and can replenish moisture to the skin. The greatest effect of toner is that it can refine pores and effectively balance oil secretion.

3. Different functions

The lotion has good emollient and moisturizing effects and is especially suitable for use in the dry spring and autumn seasons. If your skin is neutral, you can also use it in winter. The function of toner is to cleanse again and restore the pH value of the skin surface, regulate the stratum corneum, enable the skin to absorb better, and prepare for the use of skin care products.
