What is the scrub used for? Where is the scrub used?

I often hear girls say that they use facial scrub to exfoliate, but many people don’t know what a scrub is? They don’t know what the scrub does? What is the scrub used for?

What is scrub used for?

Scrubs are mainly used to remove deep dirt and dead skin. Scrub refers to an emulsified cleanser containing uniform fine particles. It is mainly used to remove dirt deep in the skin. By rubbing it on the skin, it can peel off aging scaly cuticles and remove dead skin, making the skin more delicate, smooth and elastic.

Where to use scrub

If the cuticle of some parts is too thick, you can also use scrub to make the skin smooth. For areas with acne, using a scrub to remove dead skin can also help the oil to be discharged smoothly and have a certain therapeutic effect. Generally speaking, the appropriate frequency of using scrub is: once every two weeks for oily skin; once a month for dry skin or thin facial skin; once every two weeks for neutral or combination skin, and can be used only on the T-zone; in addition, combination skin can also be used locally on oily or rougher areas.

When should scrub not be used?

1. Dead skin cannot be removed from skin that is suffering from allergies and peeling. Many friends think that their skin is dead skin when it peels, but this skin cannot be removed by exfoliating. Because the peeling area is particularly sensitive, exfoliation will damage the dermis of the skin.

2. Dead skin cannot be removed from acne-prone skin. When we have acne, there will be inflamed areas on our skin. At this time, the skin's self-protection and self-repair abilities are very poor. Removing dead skin will irritate acne and make bacterial infection more likely to occur.

3. Friends with skin diseases cannot remove dead skin. Although many patients with skin diseases will have scaly skin, removing the dead skin at this time can easily hurt our own undamaged skin, and it can also easily irritate the skin disease and aggravate the condition.

How to use body scrub

1. Use scrub to exfoliate first, and then use body lotion to replenish nutrients. Using scrub first is to allow the skin to absorb nutrients in a better state. If you use body lotion first and then scrub, it is easy to waste the nutrients in the body lotion.

2. The main function of scrub is to remove dead skin and exfoliate. Due to metabolism and environmental factors, a lot of dirt accumulates on the skin surface. If the skin wants to absorb nutrients, it needs to pass through the barrier of dirt. In this way, the nutrients absorbed are very little, so it is necessary to clean first and then replenish nutrients.

3. Before using the scrub, wet your body with warm water. You can also use shower gel to clean the grease on the skin surface first. After the skin is completely soaked in water, apply the scrub evenly to all parts of the body and gently massage the body with your hands. The joints and areas with thick cuticle need to be massaged for a while, and then wash with clean water.

Don’t use scrub every day

Regardless of your skin type, body scrub should not be used every day. Because body scrub contains abrasive particles, it will irritate your skin if used every day. Moreover, the function of body scrub is deep cleansing. If you use it every day, it is equivalent to deep cleansing the skin every day, which can easily cause the skin's stratum corneum to become thinner, making the body skin sensitive and fragile, so body scrub cannot be used every day. It is best to use a body scrub 2 to 3 times a week. But it also varies from person to person. For example, some people have oily skin and may do it more frequently, two or three times a week.
