How to use Herborist rose essential oil

1. Aromatherapy burner method: Add two-thirds of water to the bowl of the aromatherapy burner, add 2 or 3 drops of essential oil, light a candle to heat it, and deeply inhale the aromatic scent to regulate your mood.

2. Massage method: Add 10-15ml of aromatic base oil into a small mixing bowl, stir well, apply gently and evenly to the required area, and massage.

3. Cold or hot compress method: Add 3-6 drops of essential oil to cold water (cold compress) or hot water (hot compress), stir evenly, soak a towel, wring the towel dry, apply it on the face, and gently press the towel covering the face with both hands to allow the moisture containing the essential oil to penetrate into the skin as much as possible. Repeat the above steps 5-10 times. When applying massage to any part of the body, the ratio of water to essential oil is about 200ml of cold or hot water with 5 drops of essential oil, while only 1 drop of essential oil is needed for the face.

4. Spraying method: Add essential oil to distilled water, put it in a spray bottle, and spray it on the bed, clothes, furniture, pets, bookcases, and carpets at any time to disinfect and deodorize and improve the living environment. Commonly used essential oils include rosemary, lemon, sweet orange, mint, geranium, eucalyptus, etc. The ratio is 10 drops of oil to 10 milliliters of water. After filling the container with clean water, add essential oil and shake evenly before use.

5. Massage method: Health massage generally starts from the back. Place your hands on both sides of the spine above the buttocks, with your palms facing down, and move along both sides of the vertebrae to the shoulders. When you reach the neck, extend your hands outward, massaging both sides of the ribs while massaging your shoulders, and then return to the starting point. The massage must be done in one go and never stop in the middle. Dilute 2-3 kinds of essential oils (a total of 3 drops) in 3-4 ml of vegetable massage oil and massage the face, head, neck, shoulders or body.

Precautions for using essential oils

1. Do not use directly (Lavender and tea tree can be used directly on the skin in small doses and small areas). Since the concentration of single essential oils is very high, unless under the guidance of a professional, only "lavender and tea tree" are essential oils that can be used directly. Applying pure essential oils directly to the body can easily result in an overdose or excessive irritation to the skin.

2. Dosage: The dosage used should not exceed 5%. Generally speaking, 10 ml of essential oil can be dripped out for about 200 days, so a 5% concentration is about 10 days. If you want to mix base oil, a safe dose is to add less than 10 drops of essential oil to 10 ml of base oil.

3. Blending: There are fewer blending problems when using compound essential oils prepared by manufacturers. If you like to blend by yourself, please note that no more than 3 essential oils can be used each time, and compound essential oils are safer than single essential oils.

4. Allergy test: People with allergies must undergo allergy testing.

5. Avoid confusion: Essential oils are imported from abroad as well as domestically produced, so some of the names are different. When purchasing and using essential oils, it is less likely to make mistakes if you recognize the English or scientific name of the essential oil.

6. Avoid accidental ingestion: Store carefully and keep out of reach of children.

7. Pay attention to storage: Pure essential oils are afraid of light and high temperature oxidation, so they should be stored in deep bottles and preferably placed in a dark place with a constant temperature below 30 degrees.

8. Avoid photosensitivity: Many essential oils contain furanocoumarins, which can cause photosensitivity reactions. Avoid sun exposure within a few hours after using them on the face to avoid darkening of the skin. Such as: bergamot, lemon, lime, angelica, etc.

9. It cannot replace medical treatment: Although essential oils have good therapeutic effects and are helpful for physical and mental balance, you still need to see a doctor if you have an emergency. It is safer to use aromatherapy to assist medicine as a tool for daily health care, relieving chronic pain, and improving the condition of bad essential oils.
