Is it suitable for sensitive skin to use softener or moisturizer? Which one should be used first?

Toner is a very commonly used skin care product that can keep the face moisturized. We all know that sensitive skin is very sensitive. So is toner suitable for sensitive skin? Will there be any other uncomfortable symptoms after using it?

Is the softener suitable for sensitive skin?

It is better not to use it for sensitive skin. Using toner will make the stratum corneum thinner. Once the stratum corneum becomes thinner, it is easily irritated. It is better to choose toner with repair function for sensitive skin.

Sensitive skin is characterized by a thinner stratum corneum on the shoulders. This is a problematic skin that is prone to facial redness, heat, itching, and stinging once stimulated. Problems are more likely to occur when the seasons change or the temperature changes suddenly.

People with sensitive skin should pay attention to hydration. Giving the skin enough water can increase the skin's barrier function and resist some external stimuli. In addition to hydration, people with sensitive skin should also find out the reasons that make the skin thinner so that they can avoid it later.

Cleansing the skin is necessary, but it should not be over-cleansed. The skin still needs a certain stratum corneum. When choosing skin care products, do not choose those containing acidic ingredients such as salicylic acid and fruit acid. Using them will cause the stratum corneum to fall off and make the skin thinner.

Which should I use first, softener or moisturizer?

Both of these are toners with similar effects, so you can just use one. If you want to use both, use the softener first.

The pH value of toner is 7. It is a relatively mild skin care product. There are two types: cleansing and moisturizing. The cleansing type is mainly for exfoliation, while the moisturizing type is mainly for moisturizing and hydrating. They contain many moisturizing factors. Both types of toners can soften cuticles.

The moisturizing effect of moisturizing water is very good. It can provide the skin with enough moisture, regulate the water and oil balance of the skin, and make the skin more hydrated and translucent. It also contains water-soluble moisturizers and polyols.

If you use it, you should first use toner to soften the cuticles and open the pores, and then use moisturizing water to replenish moisture to the skin. Toner and moisturizing water are both lotions with similar effects. You don't need to use both, just choose one. Too much moisture will be a burden on the skin and will damage the skin barrier.
