The first to introduce this concept was Pond's "Isolation Cream to Prevent Makeup from Harming the Skin", but in fact, this isolation cream was just a low-factor sunscreen.

Those so-called makeup-isolating, radiation-isolating, and dirty air-isolating products are nothing but marketing tricks, exaggerating to mislead consumers.

The most you can do for isolation is to add some titanium dioxide and zinc oxide to achieve the effect of isolating ultraviolet rays, and add some pigments to achieve the effect of beautifying the face. At most, it can be considered half a baby, there is no such magical effect.

Can isolation replace sunscreen?

If the primer you use has a corresponding protection value marked on it, such as SPF 30 PA++, you don't need to use sunscreen.

But if only one of SPF and PA++ is marked, then the sun protection effect of your primer is still slightly weak, and you will need to add another layer of sunscreen.

If you are going to engage in long-term outdoor activities, such as at the beach or in military training, I still recommend using professional sunscreen rather than isolation cream containing sun protection value.
