Long-term use of cosmeceuticals will cause skin dependence. Who is suitable for using cosmeceuticals?

Pharmaceutical cosmetics are also a kind of facial product. They are different from ordinary skin care products. Pharmaceutical cosmetics have a certain repairing effect, or you can say a therapeutic effect. The efficacy of pharmaceutical cosmetics is relatively strong, but it is not suitable for long-term use.

Everyone’s skin problems are different, and different skin types require special products to treat. Some cosmetics can treat skin problems, but not everyone can use them.

Will long-term use of cosmeceuticals cause skin dependence?

Long-term use will not cause dependence.

Only skin care products with hormone ingredients will cause dependence. Medical cosmetics do not contain hormone ingredients and will not cause skin dependence through long-term use. When you run out of cosmeceuticals, you can replace them with ordinary skin care products without causing your skin to become intolerant to the new products. Just choose a new skin care product.

In fact, cosmeceuticals are not suitable for long-term use. Their effects are relatively single and only effective for certain purposes. Moreover, the concentration of the active ingredients in them is quite high. Long-term use will increase the burden on the skin, make the skin resistant to drugs and reduce resistance. It is best to use cosmeceuticals in stages, and then switch to other skin care products after the symptoms targeted by the cosmeceuticals have improved.

Who is suitable for using cosmeceuticals?

1. Allergic skin

Medical cosmetics do not contain irritating ingredients such as alcohol, fragrances and preservatives. Allergic skin is more fragile and has a thicker stratum corneum, so it is better to use milder medical cosmetics and skin care products.

2. People with large pores and acne-prone skin

This type of skin is suitable for cosmeceuticals containing A acid ingredients. A acid has the functions of dissolving keratin, promoting collagen production in the dermis, shrinking pores, and removing acne. If used for a long time, the stratum corneum will become thinner, so it is better to use a low concentration at the beginning. A acid is a photosensitive substance and is suitable for use before going to bed.

3. Screen damage

Medical cosmetics do have a certain repairing effect, and they do not contain alcohol or preservatives, so they will not cause harm to already damaged skin.

4. People who work in offices

People in offices have to face computers for a long time. The radiation from computers can cause certain harm to the skin. You can use cosmeceuticals to help with skin care.
