Choose a repeatable location

Record your sensor location and keep it consistent. Write down temperature along with relative humidity, the time, whether the humidifier was running and any open windows or doors.

Observe the room

EPA advises against indoor relative humidity above 50 percent. Reduce or stop humidification if nearby surfaces become wet or condensation appears. Avoid treating the display on the machine as the only view of conditions in the room.

Keep the record useful

Use the humidity log for private notes or share selected observations in the community. A short series of readings is more informative when it includes the conditions under which they were taken.
