At this time, it is easy for the skin to be sunburned and form sun spots. After sun spots form, the whole body will be itchy and unbearable, affecting people’s normal life. So how do we prevent the formation of sun spots in autumn?

How to prevent sunburn in autumn

1. Protect your skin

To prevent solar dermatitis, we must first pay attention to skin protection. Generally speaking, everyone should pay attention to using warm water to clean the dust and sweat on the affected area, and use burn ointment or cooling talcum powder to keep the affected skin cool and refreshed, which is very helpful for the treatment of solar dermatitis.

2. Pay attention to your diet

Dietary adjustment is also a good way to prevent this disease. You can eat more fresh vegetables and fruits, but be careful about some fruits and vegetables with strong photosensitiveness. Many solar dermatitis can be triggered by fruits and vegetables with strong photosensitiveness. In seasons with low sunlight intensity and low ultraviolet intensity, you should get more sun exposure to enhance your skin's ability to respond to the season.

3. Avoid exposure to sunlight

Avoiding sun exposure is closely related to the prevention of this disease. When going out, you should take protective measures such as holding an umbrella, wearing a straw hat, gloves, etc. You can also use some sun-shielding agents externally: such as reflective sunscreen, 15% zinc oxide ointment; 5% titanium dioxide emulsion; 5% para-aminobenzoic acid emulsion or tincture; 10% salo ointment, etc.

4. Avoid photosensitivity reactions

If a photosensitivity reaction occurs in the patient and the symptoms have not disappeared, the patient should still not be exposed to sunlight or ultraviolet rays for 5 days after the symptoms disappear to avoid another photosensitivity reaction.

5. Note on medication

Susceptible people should pay special attention to skin protection while using photosensitive drugs. If they need to go out, they can wear a wide-brimmed hat or sunshade and apply sunscreen.

6. Patient's medication

During the use of photosensitive drugs and within 5 days after stopping the medication, exposure to sunlight or ultraviolet light should be avoided. If photosensitivity reactions or skin damage occur, the photosensitizing drug should be discontinued immediately, other drugs for treating the primary disease should be changed, and treatment should be sought from a dermatologist. Do not abuse the drug to avoid delaying treatment.

7. Pay attention to skin allergies

If after taking the drug, sun exposure and skin irritation occurs, at the initial stinging or swelling, immediately avoid the sun, apply cold wet compresses to the heated parts. The first occurrence avoid sunlight and other light, including fluorescent lights.
